If you want to delete a link, tapping 'Edit Links' will allow you to clear out or edit the text, and then closing the Edit Widget by tapping on the mapping canvas will effect the desired change. You can tap Undo to revert this change as well
If you want to delete a topic entirely, you can double tap and hold to display a submenu with Delete, Copy, Paste functions. Hope that helps.

Wow... Never would have guessed this. Please add these details to the "help" map because I couldn't find the instructions there either.

Hi Kevin--
This is in the Help Map, under 'Re-organize topics'>Delete, cut, copy or paste topics. Thanks.

You're certainly right! Never would have thought to look there. I expected to see how to reorganize topics, there. I was looking for delete under the "Edit and Format Maps".
Thanks for the follow-up, Andy.

No worries--we may have to revisit our naming of those topics in the Help map.

Hi - I'm new to Mindjet and I'm having the same issue. It just updated a couple of hours ago and now when I edit a topic it shows "nodes" at the bottom instead of the buttons that it had before there is no Edit or Done buttons anymore. When I click on these nodes it either creates another topic or a child of a topic so now I have all these empty topics that I cannot delete. Any guidance? I really don't know where to tap to Edit anymore.

Hi Alec,
Those buttons are part of the new Quick Entry feature, so that you can add in rapid succession as many topics or subtopics as you need.
If you want to delete them, you can refer to the Help Map, under 'Re-organize topics'>Delete, cut, copy or paste topics, but the short answer is, if you want to delete a topic entirely, you can double tap and hold to display a submenu with Delete, Copy, Paste functions.

Thanks! I did the double tap and hold and it works like a charm (not intuitive, btw, but I'm not really an Apple user, maybe that's why?). And how can I get the buttons that I had before back? or I can't anymore?

Glad that worked. As for the old UI, I'm afraid I can't help much there--the Quick Topic entry functionality took precedence based on company goals and user feedback. Having said that, we are always looking at ways we can refine the user interface to be sufficiently flexible as to work for a range of user styles, so stick with us. Thanks.

No problem! I really appreciate your prompt response, it's not that often that you get such great customer experience!

This does work consistently. I get it to work one time out of ten. I am working with a retina display.

It is really rediculous. What do you mean with "double tap and hold". I'm really a very skilled user but I don't get this :-(

The main gestures in the app are:
•Single Tap on topic: expand/collapse subtopic(s)
•Single Tap and Hold on topic: expose Create tool (a system of horizontal [subtopic], vertical [topic], and diagonal [relationship] arrows. Once exposed, user slides finger over to desired target and releases to expose the Create Widget
•Double Tap on topic: display Create Widget
•Double Tap and Hold on topic: expose File handling menu (multicolored Pie UI)
On this last gesture, the trick is to ensure that you do a true double tap, such that the finger pulls off the screen on the first tap, and remains in 'hold' state on the second tap. This will expose the File handling menu, so that you can delete, copy, paste, etc. Some existing users were familiar with this feature, were able to pick it up, or used Undo for this purpose, but too many existing users didn't find it intuitive enough, so we are submitting to the AppStore an update which will havea delete button inside the Create Widget. That will provide 3 different ways to Delete or Undo creation or edit of a topic. We hope it will come available soon.

I should add that there is a gesture for Moving topics around, which is subtle: you tap+hold+slide on the topic all in one motion. It's difficult to express verbally, and there's a learning curve to it, but once you get a feel for it, it's handy for rearranging maps.
