keyboard stops working

Hello everyone,
with Mindmanager 16 I've experienced my keyboard being ignored a couple of times now. I can still use the mouse, none of the keyboard inputs (typing, arrow keys, delete-button) are registered though. After a restart all was back to normal...
...for half an hour or so. Togehter with "open maps from last session at startup" (or however that is called in the english version) not working makes MM 16 pretty undesirable for now, I went back to using MM 15 until some of the issues are resolved.

Presumably the keyboard not working is not a fault you are getting with other applications?

Sometimes I get a keyboard not working situation but selecting the topic I want to type into improves things immediately.

Hello Andrew,
thanks for your answer. Correct, it only happens in Mindmanager 16. I just tried it again, after 7 minutes my keyboard inputs were ignored, I opened a new email just to test the keyboard (worked fine) and back to MM it was still ignored. Weird. I'll keep on using v15 until the "open maps of last session at startup" feature works again (hoping for a quick release of an update) and try again.

There is now a version .159 and release notes here or from Help - Update in the application.

http://www.mindjet.com/uk/support/pro...

The release notes do not mention the Reopen maps issue.

Hi all,

The 'reopen last open local maps on startup' issue will be addressed in MindManager 2016 service pack 1, which will be released in the next 1-2 months.

Mario,

Regarding the keyboard input issue, this is the first report of this issue that i have seen. Do you by chance have any dialogue boxes or progress dialogues from MindManager in the background that are blocking text input? If you like, I can have a member of our support team contact you to troubleshoot further.

Best,
-Marian

Mario,

I would be curious to get any of your environment variables and when the keyboard
issue occurred. I will open a case and reach out to you directly.

Regards
David

Keyboard is disabled in Version 16.1.193 64bit.  I have been working with 4 maps open and switching between 2 of the 4 maps.  Not sure if there is a correlation but shortly after I applied a filter to isolate a progress marker (100%) to one of the maps and later removed that filter is when the keyboard no longer worked. (I have not tried to recreate the error yet. I'll update this post if I find a repeatable process.)  I could mouse around left and right click OK.  I could even paste from the clipboard to add text to a new topic.  Typing from keyboard is not restored until I closed and reopened MindManager.

Brian,
are you using the add-in MultiMaps by any chance. With me this issue also appeared on a fresth install on a new computer and I really hope Multi-Maps isn't the culprit here.

16.1.193 Windows has strange "keyboard" issue. Right click on a box brings up ONLY the fonting small screen. No longer get the normal right click menus like copy/paste options.
If I select Home than all options are usable, but no longer available on right click.
Is it me?

Brian,

I had this a couple of times (see above). Often grabbing the tab of the map (the one on the bottom, the one that opens the second window if you drag it to another screen or so) and moving it into the upwards (there's a "page" symbol displayed next to the cursor and a popup menu comes up when you let go of the mouse button - ignore that, it closes when you click anywhere else) restored my ability to use the keyboard.
A couple of times zooming with the slider-thingy on the lower right had the same effect. Doesn't seem to make sense, worked though.

same here, the "grab the current tab and move into the map-area" - aproach (see above) still works to re-activate the keyboard in my case
