It would be great to have a keyboard shortcut for blanking out the screen in presentation mode, like Powerpoint does.

Have a blank desktop (right click desktop > view > untick Show desktop icons (Which is my norm. Why show the world your clutter!)

Windows key + d = blank desktop
Alt-tab to bring back MindManager

Would be nice if you could just press "B" like PowerPoint though.

Try looking at "Fences" from Stardock as well. This lets you create containers (fences) for desktop items and you can select which items become hidden or remain visible.

Toggling the Desktop state is done by double-clicking on the desktop. It does a whole lot more as well and is free, although there is a Pro version available.

If you have only one application open e.g. MindManager then just Alt-Tab between that and the desktop.

Who ever has just one app open?!
