Keyboard Shortcuts for Focus Control

After I click on a marker in the Markers pane, the focus of control is in the Markers pane. I want to use the keyboard to get the focus of control back to the map, rather than having to mouse click on the map. What keyboard shortcut will enable me to do that?

Hi Greg. For a full list of keyboard shortcuts in MindManager 2012, go to the Help Tab followed by selecting keyboard shortcuts. This will give you a list of the options that you have. Thanks!

Yes, I have gone through that list repeatedly. Not a one of them lets me move focus of control out of the Markers pane.

Please try this yourself. Create a map. Add some topics. Now, bring up the Markers pane and put a marker on one topic.

Now, find some way to do anything besides add or remove markers on that one topic without using the mouse. That's what I want to do. If it works for you, please let me know what key combination you used.

Hi Greg. Since this is not currently a keyboard shortcut, I tried to see if I could make it work as well, I am going to change your question to an idea. This way, our product team can take it into consideration for future releases. Thanks!

I have often wished for this, as well as a similar shortcut for the Topic Notes pane. I would like to be able to keep the notes pane open, but hit a key to go back forth between my notes and my map.

I asked the Keyboard King aka Jonathan Stevens (who has stayed at MindManager 6) if he had a solution.

He suggested Ctrl-F1 which used to close the Panes and give focus back to the map but that did nothing for me in Mindjet aka MindManager 11 when in the Markers Pane.

He also suggested using the Alt key. This exposes the shortcut keys for interacting with the Ribbon. Tthe Alt key will show you the keys to open Ribbons e.g. Insert. This allows you to interact with markers, select one and return to the map.

Another route would be a right click keyboard equivalent on a topic to open the drop down menu, select a marker and then it closes automatically?

Interesting. Ctrl-F1 does not close the panes and give focus back to the map on my version. That seems consistent with Andrew's experience.

Alt-key functionality also seems to be disabled in that context.

When focus is on the topic, I can get to the Icons menu with Alt-N-IC, but it's not possible to select an icon at that point. There's no keyboard mechanism for selecting an icon there.

Similar effect is seen when you use the right-click keyboard equivalent, and then "I" for icons. There's no keyboard mechanism for selecting an icon at that point.

These options all get you close, but none of them answers the mail.
