Recently upgraded to iPhone 5s with ios7.0.3 and the map that I use on Dropbox simply locks up when attempting to add a new task.

Hi Rob,

Have you tried to uninstall/re-install the application?
Does this issue occur with all maps or just maps created prior to updating to iOS 7?
Does this issue only occur with maps saved to your Dropbox account ?

I have the same. Mindjet worked on my IPad 1 (iOS 5) but have tried for the first time on an iPad Air and it locks when I add my first branch. Let me know if there is any further information I can provide that will help you identify the cause and resolution.

This problem occurs at the extremely basic level when creating a very simple map. I have reloaded the application but your server is unreachable for me to login and try it again. The attached picture shows the state of the map when attempting to add a peer task (i.e. the down arrow). I was able to create a sub-task.

I have not tried using a different account.

It works just fine on my iPad which is on IOS6.

After reinstall it also fails on all other accounts other than Dropbox. Specifically, it locks up after creating 3 tasks. Clearly the app is unusable under iOS 7.

Any chance of a reply to request for a timescale fix (as requested 3 weeks ago)? Or even a current progress update? Please?

My best estimate right now is weeks.  Our engineering team is currently attempting to find a solution.

This is currently being reviewed by our Quality Assurance team.  We have found that there is a major issue with iPhone 5S and iPad air.  The exact circumstances on how this issue is being caused are still being determined.  I will update this thread as we get more information.

Note that this seems to be an issue with the iPhone 5S and iPad air.  On other devices running iOS 7 we are not seeing this issue.

Updated version released today, seems to work on iphone 5S provided previous version is uninstalled, if installed as an update it did not work for me. New version is described as compatible with ipad - it does not work on my ipad Air, freezes in exactly the same way as the previous version.

The new version of Mindjet for iPad is still waiting for review from apple, and is not yet in the market.  Mindjet for iPhone is technically compatible with the iPad, but is not optimized for it.

The new version still doesn't work on my iPhone 4 with iOs7 : still bugs and impossible to create a new map. I uninstalled the previous version and installed the new, but I've got the same problems.

I can update and edit maps on my iPad air now, but the menus are completely invisible. i just guessed at where the file selection menu would be. It came up with all files highlighted in blue. I couldn't find a button to close/save the map I was working on.

Still not acceptable. Fortunately, I don't try to use my iPad app very often. If I did, I wouldn't be using Mindjet at all.

Mindjet not configured for iPad air?.

I'm a Mindjet long timer, both on the Mac and the iPad. I recently uploaded to the iPad Air and I'm finding that whenever I try to create nodes (by swiping or using the in-menu command) the app crashes. This, obviously, renders the app DOA... ...I hope a fix is in the works?

With crossed fingers,

The fact that mindjet has not even commented on the status of a 3-month old problem which renders it's software useless on ios7 devices begs the question of whether mindjet itself is teetering on the brink of insolvency.

MindManager freezing on iPad Air.

I have been using the MindManager app on an iPhone for quite a while but purchased an iPad Air the other day and the application keeps freezing, mainly when I try to create subtasks. Is this a known problem?

I suspect that this is an issue with all iOS devices with the A7 processor which would mean that it will now also fail on the new iPad Mini 2

Stephen,

You are correct. We have identified issues with the new A7 Chip. The application is appears to be working fine with all previous generation devices that support iOS 5.0 or later.

I'm having issues with Mindjet for iPad 3.1.2 locking up when I try to add a 3rd level topic on iPad Air, iOS 7.0.4. Is there a fix or a work-around?

Add me to this list. I just found this site. I had emailed support at Mindjet and got a very poor response that they would not contact me again to renew?? I really like using mindjet so that was not my point, but if it can't work on the newer A7 chips it really hurts the way I work. Just disappointing in two ways: 1 how could Mindjet drop the ball since EVERYONE knew about the Apple upgrades coming long before they hit. 2. Mindjet really doesn't seem to care about their customers or whether it works or not since the apps are cheap and just add ons to their computer versions. I use the iPad version way more and I bet a lot other folks do too!

Same here. So basically Mac app corrupts all maps (unless you rename to .xmmap which doesn't work on iOS without a convert) and iOS + A7 just hangs...

Mindjet Guys, any ETAs on these issues?

In the end I purchased the iThoughts app. Having been a MindManager user on PC and now Mac for many years, I can say that the  iThoughs app is a much better for the iPad etc. works perfectly on A7 series devices and reads and writes to/from pretty much any mind map software including MindManger. Seriously considering whether to ditch MindManager on the Mac now. Ironically, I would have not bothered to look if Mindjet had been on the ball with the A7 upgrade.

Yes - I recommended the iThoughts app a few weeks ago in this thread, though my post seems to have mysteriously disappeared in the merging of the various topics related to this issue :)

To reiterate, I think iThoughts has a much more intuitive interface than the Mindjet app, it works well with Dropbox and it has loads of import and export options. While I still believe MindManager is the best mindmapping software available on the (Windows) desktop, I think iThoughts is by far the best mobile app, especially the HD version for the iPad.

I'm not directly affected by this as although I make extensive use of MindManager on both my laptop and desktop, I never liked the Mindjet iPad app from the start.

Instead I use iThoughts HD. The interface is more intuitive, it works well with Dropbox and it has loads of import and export options, including the ability to sync with MindManager as well as a bunch of other mindmapping programs. Incidentally this facility means that at a pinch you can use iThoughts HD to act as an intermediary if you need to convert MindManager files to another program or vice versa (though you do lose some features on the way).

IThoughts is also available for the iPhone, though I don't do mindmapping on a phone. Therein lies madness.

Apologies if they way I phrased my comments misled anyone - I was speaking specifically in response to the question about alternatives for the iPad and iPhone, and regrettably there isn't a Windows version. There is a version for Macs, so it appears to be strictly Apple at the moment.

Perhaps you could approach the developers to see if they have any plans to port the Mac version to Windows, though in the interim someone who is a Mac user might like to give us their thoughts on how the Mac versions of Mindjet and iThoughts stack up.

However I still think it's a good alternative to Mindjet on iPads (and probably on iPhones as well) and it does sync to MindManager.

I switched to iThoughts HD a week ago and I'm *sold* on it. At least as good as Mindjet was and in some cases better. But most importantly, it works on my air.

I have tried to use the iPad app, but it freezes every time I attempt to create a subtopic. Some comments in the iTunes store indicate that this app has abandoned . . .

The app is still being supported, yes.  We have a potential fix for this problem and are currently in the process of testing it.  iTunes app store submissions are down for the holidays, so it probably won't be until the new year.  Hopefully it will be very soon (within a week or two) in the new year.  Apologies it has taken this long.

mindjet ipad stops working when adding branch.

I just bought a new Ipad and installed mindjet maps. When i try to use it, the app closes down every time i try to add a branch to the base subject. I have used the app on other ipads and iphones for a long time without this problem before.
I have also tried to reinstall the app and restart the ipad etc. Nothing helps.

being am Mindjet addict from the start, i bought IThoughts long ago to but only made the switch now.
That was always the better APP, but I exclusively used Mindjet. But the app is unusable, I 'depend' on it for business related stuff, so....
Bye,bye mindjet, it was nice with u.

iOS app freezes on iPad Air after adding first topic..

Downloaded Mindjet successfully to iPad Air. Application launches and I can create a new map. Added the first topic by tapping+dragging arrow. When trying to create a second topic, the tap-drag bring forth the arrows and then the app freezes and then needs a hard reset.
