Logic for adding sub topics while in Icon view

Hello, I am using MindManager 2020. Fairly new to the product. I have assigned priorities 1, 2, 3, etc. to various Level 2 or Level 3 topics in my mind map. I find the Icon view super helpful for seeing all these priorities in one screen. However, when I add a sub topic, while in the Icon view, MM does not seem to be quite consistent about what higher level topic the level 2 or 3 sub topic is associated. Is the suggested practice to not add sub topics while in the icon view? Or what is the logic that MM uses to determine what higher level topic a sub topic is associated with when the sub topic is added in the Icon view? Thanks in advance for any help on this.

Hi Bart,

In the column based views you can only add siblings of existing topics, if you want to add subtopics for a specific topic you can add them in map view and then categorize them in icon view, or once the first subtopic is added select it and click the down arrow to add another sibling of that subtopic in the view.
