two people accidentally worked on the same file, at the same time, on their own PC's... I now have two versions of a map. How do I combine them without duplicating information or losing any of the detail added?

Ofcourse it would be nice to have a function that shows the differences between 2 maps.
or that allows to merge two maps but leave out duplications.
Unfortunately there is no such function in MindManager
There are some workarounds that you could try though ...;-)
Export both maps to another format e.g. Word or CSV or XML and combine and filter them in that application (if possible).
After that you can import the correct info into a new map. Rename that one and ...done.

Maybe this works as well. If you create an new map with links to both maps you have, you could try to merge them in the Linked Maps function view
Go to View tab, Document view section=> linked maps. You get an overview of the maps that you just linked together and Cobine them. See what this gives you

And if all fails, you could contact Jose who is an expert on XML for MindMaps etc.
You find him through the MIVAP group

Judy, there's not really a 'user friendly' way to do this but I did some tests while looking at the XML-data and I should be able to generate a list of differences between the maps which should help you merge the maps together?
Would you be able to send the maps to me at mathieu@ahacoaching.nl ?
