Mindjet Connect only Reader Status altough I have a paid desktop version

Hi everyone,

I have a paid desktop version of Mindjet Manager. Just recently I started using the Mindjet Connect feature to create maps and store them in the cloud.

Unfortunately, I get the display that I only have a reader status, which for example prohibits me from creating folders.

Can I insert my product key somewhere to upgrade from the reader status or is my product key / purchase limited to the functionalities of the desktop version?

It depends on the type of license you're using. There was a time (a couple of years ago) with subscription based licenses which also included cloud functionality, but Mindjet is not actively selling those type of licenses anymore. If you have a perpetual MindManager license (one time payment), this will include a month of cloud usage and the revert back to Reader status.

Could you check if you have a perpetual license or a subscription-based license?

I have a perpetual license ;-( Which I guess means that I only have the reader status.

OK, let me check what the options are to 'upgrade' your reader license to a full (subscription) one.

Sven, there's currently no path to upgrade your reader license.

However, you might achieve cloud storage, folders etc by moving your maps to a service like Dropbox, Google Drive or Microsoft OneNote? The newest version of MindManager has some built-in options which enable check-in/check-out functions and I have been using such a service (Google Drive) together with MindManager for years (also on mobile) by using a sync app on my desktop and the native apps for mobile.

Is this something you could use?

Thanks a lot. Then I might get the newest MindManager soon. Seems like my current version MindManager 10, lacks this feature.
