Hello,

I am currently using MM2012 with Outlook 2010 on Win 7.

I am having similar problems with appointments and task. What is interesting there is no problem when you assign a task for yourself or an appointment with no participants. The MM crashes when you assign a task to someone else or set an appointment inviting participants.

MM shows a window saying that it couldn't connect to MS Outlook. Restarting MM or Outlook may solve the problem.
But it doesn't...

It look that the problem is known

I would really appreciate your advice as this disfunctionality.

Are you using the 32 bit or 64 bit version of Outlook? Thank you!

same problem here. Outlook 2010, MM 2012. How do I get help?

more detail: if i try to export a task or email from outlook it arrives in MM as a blank item.

if i try to import outlook items while in MM, then MM crashes instantly.

Hello,

Below you will find my discussion with support team.
The described approach didn't help and nobody followed up my reply sent on 28th of March.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Thilo,

I uninstalled MM and applied registry patch.

Unfortunately I run Win7 and I couldn’t find the directories for deletion.

I reinstalled MM and the problem remains...

Still looking for your help!

Pozdrawiam / Best Regards

Dear Pawel,

Thank you for contacting Mindjet Support. This problem should be solved with Version 9.2. As you are using 2012 it schould no longer show.

Is on your system also Mindmanager 9 installed ?
If yes, please use the following steps to completly remove Mindmanager 9 from your system. Also you can try reinstalling Mindmanger 2012 with the below steps. While reinstalling please close all Office aplications.

Best regards,
Thilo Hennrich
Mindjet

You may need local administration rights to use the attached registry script.

Follow these steps for a complete uninstall:
1. Uninstall MindManager 10/9/8in Windows control panel: Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs.

2. Download and execute the attached registry clean script (Unzip the file, double-click it and confirm dialogs):
- MindManager 2012: www1.mindjet.de/downloads/support/Remove-all-MM10-reg-data.zip
- MindManager 9: http://www1.mindjet.de/downloads/supp...

3. If the install directory C:\Program Files\Mindjet\MindManager (default setup path) still exists, delete it manually. The path can vary if you have installed MindManager per custom setup.

4. Delete the user data:
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Mindjet\Mindmanager\
Delete the entire folder.

PLEASE NOTE: Local Settings and Application Data are hidden folders. By default hidden folders are not shown in Windows. To view hidden folders set the option "Show hidden files and folders" via Start > Settings > Control Panel > Folder Options. Select the tab View. Scroll down the list to entry Hidden Files and Folders and activate Show hidden files and folders. Apply the setting and close the dialog.

5. Search the directory C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Installations for any files named Mindjet MindManager Pro .msi and delete these files. Depending on your Operating system the folder WINDOWS can also be named WINNT (Windows 2000 or Windows NT).

6. Now install MindManager again using the appropriate setup file. You can download the latest files from our website: http://www.mindjet.com/resources/down...

7. Start MindManager and wait until the library is initialized. Before changing any setting in MindManager please make sure that your previous problem is solved. For additional queries, contact Mindjet support via the contact support form in our support center.

Hello All,

This problem has been solved! It works now OK.

I paste solution from Tech Support below:

Please attempt whether a repair of MS Office via the Windows control panel and a repair of MindManager solves the issue.

If no, there may be an issue with a MS component MindManager relies on. Follow below instructions to completely uninstall and re-install all of the components:

1. Uninstall MindManager via Windows control panel: Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs.

2. Download and execute the attached registry cleanup script (Unzip the file, double-click it and confirm dialogs):
- MindManager 2012:www1.mindjet.de/downloads/support/Remove-all-MM10-reg-data.zip
- MindManager 9: http://www1.mindjet.de/downloads/supp...
- MindManager 8: http://www1.mindjet.de/downloads/supp...
3. If the install directory "C:\Program Files\Mindjet\MindManager" (default setup path) still exists, delete it manually. The path can vary if you have installed MindManager per custom setup.

4. Delete the user data:
- Windows 2000/XP: "C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Mindjet\MindManager\"
- Windows Vista/Windows 7: "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Mindjet\Mindmanager\"
5. Search the directory "C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Installations" for any files named "Mindjet MindManager Pro .msi" and delete these files. Depending on your Operating system, the folder WINDOWS can also be named WINNT (Windows 2000 or Windows NT).

6. Clean up .NET 2.0 ( for MindManager 8) / .NET 3.5 (for MindManager 9 / MindManager 2012) completely with the tool found here: http://blogs.msdn.com/astebner/archiv...
Please note: This tool is provided by an external source and you are using this at your own risk.
Direct download: http://blogs.msdn.com/cfs-file.ashx/_.... Download, unzip and execute.
Cleanup Tool User's Guide: http://blogs.msdn.com/astebner/pages/...
Important notice: If the program asks for a restart of your machine, ignore it and proceed with all others steps. A restart is not necessary.

7. Uninstall "Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable" and "Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable" via Windows control panel: Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs.

8. Download the MindManager Admin setup from the link and unzip it.
MindManager 2012: http://www1.mindjet.de/downloads/MM20...
MindManager 9: http://download.mindjet.com/MindManag...
MindManager 8: http://www1.mindjet.de/downloads/mm82...

9. Run the following setups in the following order:

For MM9 / MM 2012:
- dotnetfx35.exe
- msxml6_x86.msi
- vcredist_2005_sp1_x86.exe
- vcredist_2008_sp1_x86.exe
- Mindjet MindManager 9/10 Admin.msi

10. After you finish installation of MindManager, try to start again. The error should now be fixed.
