Mindjet is self-destructing

The decision Mindjet has taken to move to a very expensive desktop subscription licence and cease perpetual licences is insane. I have used Mindmanager from its earliest iterations and faithfully upgraded continually. Your support for addons e.g. GyroQ was abysmal in the last year. You seem to be under the illusion that you are too big too fail. I am not really letting off steam as much as suggesting for your benefit that you need to take a big breath and re-think your ongoing strategy. There are other players that are moving into your territory with more customer and developer focus.e.g. Novamind. Your lack of support for GyroQ irritated me to the point that I have decided not to upgrade. The removal of perpetual licences is the dumbest business decision I have ever seen.

I totally agree with Bruce here. I've been an advocate for MindManager for many years but no longer. The subscription model is crazy, particularly for someone like me who has just bought Mindmanager 2012 licences for my team.

I would already be looking for an alternative mind-mapping tool, if it wasn't for the fact that I use OPTI-P2 extensively.

I don't think that Mindjet will be getting any future revenues from us. We'll just stick with the version we have. I can't imagine that we'll ever take out a subscription when it costs more for one year than we paid for our perpetual licences.
