MindJet Tasks & Google Tasks synchronization

Greetings.
I use Web based application along with it's Android version to organize some of my scientific projects and I'm new to mind mapping. So, I've created a project map, created a corresponding project in MindJet Tasks, created some tasks from the projects' mind map. Then I've set up synchronization with Google calendar, but the tasks from MindJet have been converted into Google calendar events, as I've expected them to become the Google tasks.
Am I missing something in the web based MindJet applications settings or is it just the way it is supposed to be? Is it possible to make MindJet tasks to synchronize with Google tasks, not Calendar events?

Best regards, Grushin Alexander.

Hi Grushin,

You are right. Mindjet Tasks are calender appointments (all day events) in stead of tasks.

In Mindjet Tasks you can only select "sync my tasks to Google calendar":

But these Mindjet Tasks become Appointments (Afspraken in my calendar) in stead of tasks (Taken). See the screen:

Well, then this seems a bit wrong, because as far as i know, the desktop version of MindJet creates normal tasks for Microsoft Outlook and it shares quite a lot of common properties, such as importance, % of completeness, executive person, start and due dates, etc.
To my mind, the combination of [Android MindJet Maps]+[Android Mindjet Tasks with proper Google Tasks connectivity] could be just the perfect mobile addition to the desktop version of MindJet, if the latter was able to cooperate with Google Tasks too and hook up with a cloud storage of some kind (I don't know - doesn't it?). Even the web interface would be functional enough to do some work away from a primary workstation, if it could work with cloud storage different from proprietary MindJet map space.

Best regards, Grushin Alexander.

It's not a bit wrong, but totally wrong.
Tasks should be tasks in all the applications: Mindjet, Outlook, SharePoint and in Google.

Can we report this as a bug (not an idea): Mindjet Tasks have to sync to Google Tasks (in stead of all day events).

Agreed. Let's see, what do the MindJet creators have to say.

Hi everyone,

I agree that this would make sense. We actually built it this way. Unfortunately the polling technology we used to keep your Google Task list and Mindjet Task list in sync didn't work well. We tried many different things but could not get the lists to match.

Because of this we killed the feature. However, seeing all this interest in it again I will add it to our backlog to see if the technology has improved.

I might stop using mindjet because the task management is so clunky and takes away from the experience so any improvement would win back my loyalty.
