The Android Dropbox sync with Mindmanager for Android was beautifully simple and fully automatic. But when the new Mindmanager version for Android load today (automatically), the Dropbox support was gone - with no warning. How do I get it back? Observe that I am not interested in the more complex Mindjet Connect.

Mikael, use the app's options to include access to dropbox. The access has been augmented in this release to allow you to choose the folders that you want synched.

OK - I found it, but it doesn't sync. I can see a Dropbox "tab" to the right of my files tab, but I only get the "clock" (I have waited several minutes and I have a reasonable fast connection). Is it possible to have it sync automatically as is did before? How do I do that? What is the Dropbox tab?

Hi Mikael--

If you enable Dropbox (Settings>Storage>Other>Dropbox), then you should be able to see your entire account. Is what you're describing the Android 'loading' animation? If it's spinning perpetually, I'd quit the app and relaunch--if you still have the same issue, please pass along your device and Android OS version # so we can try and reproduce the issue.

If you DO get into your Dropbox account, if you're specifically wanting to access your Mindjet directory when you're offline, open the 'Apps' directory, then expose the list item menu for the 'mindjet' directory, and select 'Cache offline'. Doing this will synch your work so that you can access it anywhere.

Sorry for any confusion with the new release--we tried to ensure that existing users would have little disruption in using the app (and its new features), but there are always lessons to be learned on how to do it better. Cheers.

No change. Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7, GT-P6800, Android 3.2

Note that the Dropbox app itself works just fine, and I can apparently open existing Mindmanager files from that app - but files added or updated via the Mindjet app will not sync.

Hi Mikael,

I just had the same problem (turning clock on the Dropbox Tab)

I solved it by unchecking and checking again the Dropbox in Settings>Storage>Other>Dropbox

A window opened and dropbox asked to grant the access to mindjet (or vice and versa)

Not i works fine!

I hope it will help you solving your problem.

Thanks Pierre - now the Dropbox tab works. The only confusion left is the Device tab, that in practice don't sync with Dropbox. Obviously I should only and allways use the Dropbox tab, if I want to access my maps from my computer. It works, but why this confusion by design? Is there something I have misunderstood?

Hi Mikael,

We wanted to give people access to their entire Dropbox account, particularly for users who want to be able to move between Android and iOS versions of Mindjet, but we felt it would be inadvisable to automatically synch entire Dropbox accounts.

By the way, if you are opting to use 'Cache Offline' for Dropbox folders, I would recommend you go to Settings>Storage and enable the 'WiFi Sync' setting so that the app doesn't try to sync when you're offline.

The 'Device' local directory is still available for existing users who choose not to sign up for Connect (there was some confusion about that, but all updating users were shown a 'Not Now' link in the signup screen in case they weren't ready or interested in signing up for Connect). It's also available for users who opt in, of course--it can be useful to use the 'Copy' feature to move files from Local to the cloud .

Hope that helps. Thanks for the feedback.

Thanks for your reply. I also found I could remove the Device tab unticking the setting Storage - Other - Device. Now it looks again pretty much as before the update, that is beautifully simple!

Hello:

I haven ́t been able to sync with dropbox. I see three tabs in my phone (device, Mindjet connect and Dropbox). When I try to sync shows "Performing manual sync" but it really doesn ́t. I don ́t see the map files or folder in dropbox.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Jose
