I'd like to directly copy & paste a mindmap into word 2010. At this moment I can only copy to PowerPoint and than to word, or using the word Export and than to copy the resulting Image.
I'd like to copy&paste a mindmap directly into a word document.

Export the map to an image file and then insert in Word.

You can also Export to Word and include the map as the page of the document in the export settings. This image can be copied and pasted to another Word file.

Thank you Andrew,
this is actually the third way.
Does this mean that you cannot directly paste the mindmap as an image into Word?

You'll have to use one of the methods described above. Or, use a tool like SnagIt (which is an amazing screen capture tool).

Thanks Michael. It simply does not work directly.
I am surprised.

You may also have the Windows Snipping Tool on your PC.

It's also in Windows 8 and in earlier Tablet PC versions of Windows.

You can select topics and paste them into Word. You will get the topic text in an outline.

The Windows snipping tool is actually the best option to do this, because you can frame the map so there is less wasted space than when you export an image. In addition you can crop the map itself if you want to.

Great suggestions. I'm hooked on SnagIt but the Windows snipping tool should work fine.

You have to select all topics (ctrl+a) in the map and then paste in Word:
paste special>Bitmap

Esther, you are great. In the quick selection I couldn't find the Bitmap. But if I select Contents than bitmap is available.
Chapeau
