MM 14 Windows 8.1 server busy

Each time I try to launch MM14 on W8.1 Pro I get this:



It remains stuck in a loop no matter which button is pressed until I use Task Manager to shut it down.  MM14 is unusable.

This is the second post I've seen on this subject with no solution posted. Anyone got any ideas?

Hi Duncan,

We suggested to do complete reinstall of the latest build 14.3 and never heard back from customer.
Generally Server busy issue gets resolved  just by restarting the machine.
Can you try to reboot and see if the issue get resolved.

Unfortunately, as I need limited functionality and have seen no reason to upgrade, I'm running a very old version, 9.2.504. Sorry I tagged my problem onto a post about V14 but I assumed it is a similar problem and I'm guessing  V9 is eosl. There was a link on another post to an earlier solution dating back years but it was broken.

To recover, I have to kill the mindmanager process.

Do you have any idea what might cause the problem? What does the error relate to? It does appear to happen when I have exported to an Office format or added an Outlook alarm so I'm guessing integration with Office? If so do you have any idea which app might be the culprit so I can disable just the one that might cause the problem? I'm running Office 2013 so I fully understand why a 5 year old version of Mindmanager wouldn't be compatible with it. 

Just looking to see whether there are any common solutions that may not be available on the forum. It does seem odd that the solution to what appears to be a common problem across multiple versions hasn't been posted.

Hi Duncan,

Support has been retired for version 9 and if you upgrade to latest version and is still seeing issue,  then we will be glad to troubleshoot further.
 
However,I can provide some suggestions :

1.If you are not using MS office integration Addins.You might want to disable all addins by going to File--> Options--> Add-Ins.As if Office stays open in the background we see this message.

2.You can also try to repair MS Outlook and MindManager if the integration between this two application is causing issue.

3.You can do clean re-install of Mindmanager 9.
