"What if MM would transform our OS desktop into a part of our workspace? Two alternative ways:

1. The more interesting idea: MM would work in two modes, the current one and an additional simplified one as desktop alternative. The desktop mode would work like an usual map, but also include the elements we currently have on our desktop - from an user point of view it would completely replace the desktop. It wouldn't display the common MM interface, hence no buttons and other menus, being something like a full screen presentation mode. The MM desktop would start directly with the OS and be very reduced in functionality, so that it can be very very small. Whatever we would save on our desktop, it would be automatically displayed in MM, and of course we would can create an own unlimited number of branches as usual. The advantage is clear: it would be a great place for notes and similar things, being simply the better desktop.

2. The second alternative is less exciting, it would be only a permanently updated desktop background image, which would display the current state of an user defined map. It would be a possibility to quickly overview diverse activities or projects."
