Multi-User Access

I write a blog with several thousand readers. Oftentimes I want to post a mindmap. Since most of the readers do not have Mindmap, I have had to use the special PDF files that Mindmap creates to shares these. This is somewhat cumbersome. I am wondering if there is a way to use Connect to share access to maps I upload.

However, it appears that even if I send out a link to a particular map, the readers would have to already been added to my account to have access, which is not practical with several thousand readers.

Am I missing something, or is there easy way to share maps via Connect to numerous readers so they can have read-only access without the impracticalities of having them become a member of my group?

The purpose of Mindjet Connect is more for collaborative work management, specifically referring to the idea that you can collectively view and co-edit a map in a single interface whether you are in the same room as the other individuals or in different countries. The best way to share your maps with your blog readers is by using the “Export as Mindjet Viewer (SWF)” file export. I believe that this is what you are already doing. Although it may seem somewhat cumbersome, it is going to be your best option currently.

The best option, for more than a decade on the PC application, for maps where you do not have topic notes and are happy with a static map, is to use the clickable image map web export. You then have two options:

1. Upload the export folder to a web server and link to the index.html file from your blog. You can change the default file name in the export settings.

2. You can paste the html.txt into your blog page, upload the image and adjust the URL for the image. Hyperlinks to web pages will work but not to files in the LinkedDocuments folder. You could upload the folder to your webserver and adjust the URLs in your blog page.

Here is an example of combining both approaches and customising the clickable image export template. Community is esstential to Building Brands. Click on the map to see the big maps which is one clickable image with another embedded inside it.

Andrew, this is too much work, sorry. It needs to be really easy.
I think that Suriel is asking the right question here, and I also feel that it should be a natural "side-feature" of mindjet connect.
Not only would it be a great bonus for all your users, but the "read-only-guests" would think it was so cool!
Really guys, it's 2012 and everything is interconnected. Give us a link option a ́la google docs and a read-only-viewer for guests.
You have to be AHEAD of the customers needs, not catching up.

You probably have heard it a millions times from your colleagues, but it's worth to mention that you are doing a great job ALSO guys. It's easy to focus on the stuff that is needed/doesn't work than the things we all take for granted.

Hi Tommy

It is a good question and one that I support Mindjet addressing.

I am just a user and trainer. I can only offer you the best option known to me :)

Having options such as you get with Photo applications for direct posting to Facebook, PinInterest, Flick, Picasso would be great Plus more sophisticated one for export to WordPress, Linkedin, Ning, Xing, Biggerplate ........

I just tested Mindjet Connect and was really, really surprised that there was no "public map" feature. Without that feature Mindjet Connect is useless for me. (I need public maps when teaching.)

I think Tommy's comment above is spot on.
