Is there a way to force save and not rely on auto save?

Hi Thomas--are you storing your maps locally, or on one of the cloud storage options (Mindjet, Box, Dropbox)? The app is caching changes as you go in either instance, and when you quit the map, that functions also as save. However, if you are working on a map stored in the cloud, you can choose the 'Cache Offline' feature to ensure that the map is accessible locally as well. When you edit content within a folder that is Cached Offline, when you quit the map, you can access the 'Sync Now' feature to make sure that what you've just saved locally will be mirrored on your cloud storage. Thanks.

just where would i find this cache online offline feature you're talking about?
twice now i have lost 2 hours worth of work due to the app crashing and not performing any auto-saves during work,
this seems to be a recurring issue, both here and in the play store reviews, and noone seems to have any real answers about how it can be solved.
this makes working with the app risky at best

Sorry to hear you're seeing these issues--I have some questions about your specific circumstances:

• Are you working within one of your cloud accounts (Mindjet Files, Box, or Dropbox) when the app crashes?
• What is the error message you see when the app crashes? (I'm defining 'crash' as the app force quitting altogether and having to be relaunched)
• Which Android device/operating system are you using?

As for the 'Cache Offline' feature, it's available within the list item menu for all folders in a given cloud account. You display the menu by tapping on the small 'expand' icon in the bottom right of each list item--this will expose a variety of contextual options. For the folder containing the content you want to cache, selecting Cache Offline will keep a local mirror version of what's on the cloud.

I can tell you that these problems started to surface about a month ago, and we've been grappling with them in earnest, but they're proving to be complex. Working locally and then uploading is the safest workflow if you're consistently seeing these issues. We hope to have a resolution soon, and will post to this board when we do.

- no, I'm storing the files on Dropbox though, and background syncs do happen.
- "unfortunately mindjet has crashed" - been getting it more and more frequently to the point the app has become unusable, tried reinstalling, restarting the device.
- using a galaxy note II n7100 running stock rom with version 4.1.2

A few more questions/obervations:

• Did you update to the 3.5 version last week?
• If so, do you think there might be a correspondence between the update and the crashes?
• If not, I'd recommend updating to see if it helps
• Does the crash occur if you work from your local Device storage?

- yes
- can't say, haven't really started working with it till 4 days agi
- currently, crashing has become so frequent I can't even get to the stage where I open the local device display

2 problems here really:
lack of proper autosaving feature
frequent crippling crashes

mix the two up together, and you don't get a fun user experience

OK, that helps narrow it down a bit.

I would try this: open Settings>Apps, and find the instance for Mindjet Maps. Clear cache and Clear data, then relaunch the app to see if you can run crash-free for any appreciable length of time.

The Android dev team just got a new Note device last week, I will ask them to take a look. Thanks for alerting us to the issue.

many thanks for your involvement with this,

my problems are occuring an a Note II device, not a Note, if that's what you meant, ignore this comment.

regardless, i think it would be wise to allow manual saving of work in progress in any case, i believe it would benefit users greatly.

also, on an unrelated note, where/how can i pass a feature request?

No worries--we've been encountering a greater volume of mobile issues in the last month, and I'm keen to at least make sure users know they're being heard while we try to sort out the issues. And please feel free to make feature requests here in the Get Satisfaction forum. Cheers.

Hi Ron. You have the correct place. I would recommend submitting your feature request as an idea so that others can vote on it as well. Thanks!
