Newest Flash already installed but not working in MindManager 11. Upon opening MindManager 11 I keep getting this error in the Getting Started area to watch the videos:
Adobe Flash is required for viewing the videos. Steps: 1. Install Flash 2. Restart Mindjet desktop app.

But I've already installed the newest version of Flash, restarted, reinstalled using the 'Repair' option, uninstalled the program entirely, cleaned all the Registry entries, and reinstalled the program fresh and it still won't display the videos in Getting Started area.

Running Windows 7 Ultimate and PC is in perfect condition. See attached screenshot of Getting Started window repeated error message, regardless of what I've done to rectify it.

I'm not sure about this, but this might be related to the fact that Flash is installed for a different browser (e.g. Chrome, Firefox) than the one that Mindjet is using (which should be Internet Explorer)

Thanks for your thoughts, but the web browser one's using doesn't seem to make any difference. Flash automatically updates itself in Chrome and as mentioned, I already installed the latest version of Flash (from it's downloadable stand-alone version from Adobe's website).

I use Chrome almost exclusively, occasionally use Firefox and rarely every use Internet Explorer.

I recently experimented by un-installing Mindjet on the main PC and installed it on a laptop also running Win 7 Ultimate, with nearly identical software to see if the problem would replicate itself - it did not.

The Mindjet videos that require Flash in the Getting Started area running on the laptop worked perfectly immediately after installation.

Any help would be appreciated...

Could you open the Browser tab from the right hand side of the MindManager interface and see if you can find the installed Flash version by using this link: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/k...

If that doesn't show a Flash movie, you might need to start Internet Explorer and download Flash for Internet Explorer from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

Mindjet is using an embedded version of Internet Explorer for displaying browser windows within MindManager. Which browser you use doesn't affect this.

Thank you Mathieu, you were definitely on the right track. I have Sandboxie installed for each browser I use, which interfered with any Adobe Flash installations/updates on Internet Explorer unless I turned it off temporarily.

Now everything's running as it should in the Getting Started area with Flash videos, etc.

Thanks again for your time and consideration!

I find it, well, harump, not very good that Mindjet is not neutral as to the browser we users are using. MS is not very well known for its user friendliness ;-)

Yes, however MS Internet Explorer is available on most Windows systems and is easy to integrate in other software programs as a built-in browser :)
