Do you think you could find out if there is a way to alert people when a change has been made on a MJ map?

This is absolutely an important use case that we'll be working on in the future. What kind of information would you like to see in a notification about a map change? Simple start might be an e-mail and event stream entry that simply states

map X was changed by Y person on Z date.

It could be more complex by trying to then further summarize what was changed but that might be a bit overwhelming.

Then there is the alert/notification frequency issue. would you want to get such an alert for every time it was changed? For example what if you and your team have a map in connect that gets updated 20 times a day by an entire team who is entering/updating info.

Would you want to get notified about all maps you have access to or just select ones that you might "follow"?

What do you think would be the right balance?

Connect Business - Need to have real-time update notifications – be able see who added what at what time (time-stamped)

When I hover over any topic in Connect it tells me who added it and at what time specifically.

Additionally, they would like to be able to filter on the changes made within a specific time frame

There are at least two cases:

1. When you are online as described by Antonio

2. When you are not using Connect but you are online. I would prefer an app like the Topics Alert or Outlook Alert on my PC. For iOS and Android I would like an alert stream like I get from Hootsuite, FourSquare, Facebook, eBay etc.

"Email and RSS options would be great! (in fact a subscription option for document changes, available to all authorised users)"

"I've shared a couple of maps and it's hard to tell if anyone did anything. It would be nice to get notified via email if another user besides myself does something in the map. Of course, need the ability to turn notifications on or off for people who don't like to get too many emails."

I've merged several similar ideas into this one to keep all the good ideas in 1 place.

Hi,

Revision Mode gets all its justification when maps are shared, doesn't it.
Why then suppress it in the SaaS version of MindManager ?
It seems to me that it solves the problems of knowing who has changed what, when and why.

Hi Fan

I've merged (not deleted) several related Ideas into this one so you can vote for this parent idea.

What I deleted was an exact duplicate of your comment above.

Happy voting as I think this whole notion of being informed about who did what to what is critical part of the collaboration experience.

Both all maps and select ones.
Thanks for asking.
When can we see this feature?

And btw-as admin I would like to "push" the notifications to different participants.

Allied to this feature, it would be very helpful to have a very rudimentary "review" capability in the online Connect functionality.
It is necessary to see who has made changes on a collaborated map, and what the changes were.
Unless the intent is to push all collaborating users to buy the full 2012 desktop version, but that would inhibit userbuy-in.
Made this suggestion a while back, but it may have got lost.

Has there been any progress made on setting up alerts for map changes?

Either at the time of, through a daily or weekly digest etc. We are trying to use mindjet to manage release dates between three people and its very hard to tell when something changes.

Thanks

There is also some tentative changes. I recently read an article. I do not remember just where(. Now have to look to me for project management tools, one should try to map.
