I have 2 Desk top Windows PCs at the office and at home, a laptop, iPad and Android Smart Phone - currently Home & work Desktop has MindManager 9, laptop is busy upgrading to 14.0.334 and i think my iPad is up-to-date. This is a one user scenario but used on many devices. I would like all my devices to be on the same latest version. How do i do that?

Hi Dmitri,

You would have to update all of your Desktop/Laptop clients to MindManager 14 to have access to Mindjet Files which can be shared across both the iPad and Android. Alternately, you could utilize Box or Dropbox with MindManager 9, but you will run into compatibility issues between 9 and 14 due to the changes in the XML Schema. I would highly recommend running only MindManager 14 and make sure to update to the latest version of both Mobile Apps.

Will MindManager 14 break the files for MindManager 9? In previous versions you could work on maps between client versions and features of newer client versions would just be hidden in older clients?

Hi Mathieu,

Based on my limited testing, the new features of MindManager 14 will either show as Custom Properties (AutoCalc/Formulas) in MindManager 9 or will show as Data Not Available if dealing with Mindjet Tasks. I would suggest that you be very careful if you have maps that contain formulas or AutoCalc as you can still edit the custom properties that feed into the formulas but cannot the fomula will not update in MindManager 9. I'm also checking internally to verify that the behavior I see is consistent for all MindManager 14 content that MindManager 9 does not understand.
