Open xmind files on android

I love the mindjet app on my Samsung Galaxy tablet and smartphone. I am storing the files in xmind format on Dropbox. Very often I cannot open the file once I have closed it on the mobile device. If I open the same file on my windows pc and close it again, I can reopen it with the android app.
Is there a way to overcome this error? Thanks for your suggestions. Georg Senoner

I am a bit confused by your question.
You use the MIndjet app to create (mind)maps?

You then store them in Xmind format?

Why?
Why not just stick to mindjet format?

How do you you store the maps in Xmindformat?
Step by step explanation -or  short movie - would help clarify, since I could not find the way to do that in my android app.

Do you open that same file on your windows pc, do you open in a browser? Or do you open it in MindManager? Which MIndManager version can open Xmind files??

Hi Ary, thanks for answering my question.
Our company is using xmind on the windows PCs.
In oder to be able to work on the mind maps on the Android devices I discovered mindjet-maps.
In the settings menu you can choose xmind as default file format.
Unfortunately the app randomly fails to open the file. FAILED TO OPEN MAP
This problem is independent from where I store the file (on the device or in the cloud)
If I store the file on the tablet I found no way to recover it. If I store it in dropbox I can open it with xmind

Hope I was clear enough and hope you find a solution.
Kind regards from Italy
Georg

I am triggered by your "Unfortunately the app randomly fails to open the file. FAILED TO OPEN MAP"  remark. So it works most of the time, but not always? Or the other way around?

It may be that you have switched the setting Filter Files on, that will show only files that can be edited in the app.

It may also be that the xmind file format has changed over time and the mindjet app does not take it into account. This may be the case if it used to work fine, but the behavior changed recently.
When that could be the reason, you should be able to store in the earlier xmind format in your xmind desktop software.

Another solution option could be that your xmind desktop stores in mindjet format.

Thanks again
Aproximately 7 out of 10 times the app fails to reopen a file. I could not find a logic.
I have not activated the file filter
The problem occurs also with files created with mindjet-maps and stored on the Android device.
Kind regards Georg

That is odd, since I use Mindjet maps and task a lot on my android smartphone and have never seen this behaviour.
Not when stored on my device, not when stored in Mindjet files (online) and not when stored in dorpbox.

There may be something wrong with your Android settings or version in relation to xmind and/or mindjet.
Sorry I can't be of more help
