Opening maps with external linked files is extremely slow on MindManager 9 Mac

I am switching from Windows to Mac OS X. I have been using MindManager 8 on Windows for years, gathering many maps, some of which include lots of external files linked to the map.

After transferring the maps and the linked files altogether to the Mac (brand new MacBook Pro, i7, 8GB of RAM), and trying to open them with MindManager 9 Mac, it is extremely slow (several minutes to open a file).

When the file is finally opened, the links seem functional, the corresponding files (mostly PDFs) can be opened by clicking on the link icons. But these links cannot be removed from the map : when trying to edit them, the button to remove the links does nothing.

I have tried to create a new map directly on the Mac, include links to PDF files in it exactly as it was on the maps that comes from the Windows version, and in such a case it seem to work (with only a few links though, I have not tested it with hundred of links yet).

What can I do to be able to use my already existing maps correctly on MindManager 9 Mac ?

It are the maps stored on my macbook pro with ssd. I have all ready opened a case. Tomorrow I will add an example of a map I use and will add your request for the direct route. Thanks for the support. I've installed the 9.5 version and now I have a good performance. However 9.6 should be better and not slower. But I'me confident you can solve it.

I've just update again to 9.6 after using the cleanup tool to uninstall the library and plists. Still no good performance. In an empty map I have a branch with 4 subbraches. Open and closing the view of subbranches is instant on clicking the minus sign. In a larger map this takes around 2 seconds. That was not the case in the older version. I will send you the map I'me using by email.

OK, i can do this, but i can not send the form. the form times out - and after a while i get "This webpage is not available"

to summarize, mindmanager for mac is really slow and sluggish. Everything hangs almost all the time. for PC everything is peaches. so, you have to fix this. I have a really fast 17"MBP, so i dont thing it is because of lack of RAM

I've made a formal ticket. Hope a solution is provided. I de-installed 9.6 and installed the older version again. This is ok and fast. However this older version is not supporting Mountain Lion. So I have to wait with the upgrade of Mac OS.

Hi everyone. It would be helpful to understand what version of MindManager version 9 for Mac you are running. Are any of you using Mindjet 10 for Mac? Thank you!

9.6.510 . With this kind of problems I'me not going pay again for an upgrade. Version 8 was OK. 9 sucks so what will 10 deliver. It is a pity, I'me a user for 8 years and now I'me looking for an alternative.

I've send a map on 8/22 to Terrence Dalton. He shared it with development. I've received a message back on Mindjet Case # 00249820: mindmanger 9 mac.

The content: "I did provide the map you provided to our internal development team who reviewed the map, but didn’t find anything specific in it that would explain the performance issues that you are encountering. I know they will be looking at open issues in preparation for the next phase of development and I know that performance is high on the list of goals. Unfortunately, there is nothing specific that I can share with you in regards to future development efforts and timelines, but hope you know this on our priority list."

So there is notting wrong with all the users with performance problems. Now there is a new version and Mindjet is again asking for a fee. I've already payed for an upgrade I can't use because of weak performance. In case version 10 is solving a problem (it could be the case) I would expect an free upgrade for customers who have payed for a not useable version 9.

It is because I really like the product that I still react. Only my confidence in mindjet is really gone. A pity.

hi, provided the file, and got a solution in return.
the fix on my map did not solve the "sluggishnes", it is still very slow

have also tried to use "presentation view" - this functionality makes my mac extremely slow. everything hangs
