OUTLINE VIEW - introduce an MS Word like structure for writers

"We need a MS Word like outline structure, where notes can appear as text body, which can be displayed or collapsed, as we like. Especially people which additionally use MM to write texts (books, articles, documentations etc.) will extremely benefit from this. The current outline style seldom offers a real advantage. It is an underdeveloped construct from my point of view.

A further enhancement would be a side by side display: map and outline view together. In this case the outline view would additionally play the role of a permanently visible index. MM could display it in a pane on the left. [from mentalwaves]

Hi, MW.
I agree and just made a similar suggestion, but geared more for writers in general, not just the outline view. I've used other mapping software, but MM is the best hands down--except for the "business" bloat. That's great for that particular audience, but writers and artists would love to benefit from Mindjets awesome features also without the "distractions." Maybe they'll hear us. As the business folk would say, "it's a win win situation."

Liked this idea. Wonder what you think of a word output sorter (like Powerpoint Slides have now) to manage the exports to Word
