I have long struggled with the inbuilt browser in Mindmanager as it is not up to the job of what is required from a web browser. For example it was not able to handle hyperlinks that involve page bookmarks ie. www.website.com#bookmark. It would take you to the page but then wouldn't go to the bookmark place on the page. Not very useful for deep links to web resources, which is what my maps are all about.
I noticed the other day that even the own mindjet.com website no longer supports it (there is a “Your browser does not support the video tag.” error message at the top of the page and the whole site does not render well). Not a good advert for the company or the software I'd say.
Are there any plans to upgrade the inbuilt browser to an HTML5 compatible one? It’s a problem that’s just going to get worse. As I said my maps are indexes of web-based resources so the whole point of them is that you shouldn’t have to leave the MM environment at all to browse the resources. For example I would like to offer my GIS Consultancy customers MM Maps to navigate their online data portals that I create for them but as they use Canvas and other HTML5 elements to render Google maps and charts etc., customers are unable to view them in the MM inbuilt browser e.g. see http://www.sthc.co.uk/portals/dorset.
I appreciate it may not be straightforward to solve as 3rd party resources with associated licensing will be involved (is the current browser based on Internet Explorer 8?) but, as I said, this problem is not going to go away! Also as the latest BiggerPlate 2015 MindMapping Survey results show, the competition is catching up with MindManager. One of the biggest USPs for MM for me is the in-built browser buit as it stands it's not fit for purpose.
