RE: Mindjet for Windows 11.3.305 and Mindjet web application.
The "Export to Word document" is grayed out, disabled on a PC that does not have Microsoft Word installed. Would you please change this. Just because I don't have Word installed, doesn't mean I can't use a Word Document. I use Open Office, which can easily open and modify Word documents.
At this time, the only DOCUMENT export format that Mindjet supports have is Word. Please do not disable this vital option on machines that don't have Word! Please keep it enabled, so that users can choose to use this format if they choose to do so. THANK YOU.

I like the idea, but I know that it's technically challenging as they'll practically have to rewrite the entire Word export to be able to do this.

The problem is that Mindjet actually uses Word to write the document and more specifically to format it, relying on Word templates to match topic levels to headings and topic notes to plain text.

If you don't have Word, there are two options, unfortunately neither of which exports topic notes:

1. The simplest is simply to select all topics, copy and paste in Open Office. You should get a document with spacing indents with the top two topic levels in bold which looks similar to the Outline view in Mindjet, but no topic notes.

2. Export to a CSV file, which I understand Open Office can open as a spreadsheet in Calc. However I'm not sure how easy it is to copy a spreadsheet from Calc to a Writer document in Open Office. If you do the equivalent in Word you end up with a table, which you can convert to a tab-indented but otherwise unformatted document.

In a sense this is as close to being a "raw" text version of a Mindjet map as you can get, but again without topic notes.
