Possible bug: "Focus on topic" (f3) only shows one level of sub-branches

When using the "Focus on Topic" (f3 keyboard shortcut) in MindManager 2019, it only ever displays one level of sub-branches.

It should instead fill up the screen space available with the "optimum" layout.

I've tried this one two different machines in MindManager 2019 and the problem still happens.

This was working in MindManager 2018.

Hi

I apologize but this is as designed in 2019, this was changed after receiving feedback from various customers on what they believe the intended behavior of the short-cut should be. To display all levels of the branch currently you can use  Alt+Shift+> . I will ask product to see if we can do a single key shortcut for this in a future release.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply. But I don't think just chaining the Alt+Shift+> shortcut on the end replaces the feature.

The F3 shortcut had some intelligence to it in the sense that it would figure out how much space there was on the screen, how zoomed in you were, and open the branches down to an optimum level.

It was one of my most valued and used shortcuts on MindManager and I've been using it for many years. It is now painful to manually open the branches level by level, or else see them all at once and reposition the screen.

Please bring back the original behavior, or else introduce a new shortcut that brings it back. I can't be alone in using these feature.

I have tried to persevere without this "F3" feature and I have to say the removal of this feature has made MindManager 2019 unusable for me and I am going back to version 2018.

I am a heavy user with an annual maintenance agreement. If this feature is not put back, I will not be moving on further than version 2018 and won't be renewing.

Hi,

Thanks for your feedback. We made this change in an attempt to make the behavior of the Focus on Topic command more consistent in all scenarios. Based on your feedback it seems that you appreciated the previous behavior's dynamic behavior even though it seemed inconsistent at times.

We are currently working on a way to set your preference for the behavior of this command between the new behavior or the previous behavior. Our goal is to have this available in our next service update.

Thank you for the response.

That would be great if this feature could be put back. It might not be "consistent" but it's a tremendously valuable thing (because it is so dynamic) that has kept me using MindManager for years (over its competitors)
