Possible to add connector between two shapes (not between topics)?

Hi,

I'd appreciate your help.
As shown in the image 1 below, I have two rectangle shapes.
Although I can connect topics, I couldn't find a way to add a connector between shapes.
At the end, I would like to create similar connectors like the ones from PowerPoint (image 2 below)
Is it possible? How to?

Thank you!
Carlos

You can do this manually by inserting the rectangle shapes and then inserting a horizontal or vertical divider from the Shapes menu. You can adjust the length of these lines to make them "join" the rectangles.

However, it's important to realise that while you can create concept maps with MindManager and you can also do some basic graphics using Shapes, the program is neither a dedicated concept mapper, nor is it a high-end graphics program.

I agree with Alex here.
However if you leave the design to MindManager there may be a  solution.

Diagrams like your powerpoint example can be made easy with MindManager.

Make a map with eg 4 maintopics.
Go to the design tab and select the Orgchart,
You can then set the depth of the orgchart as well

Or via the Format tab select layout (use the twisty triangle)

Many thanks Ary!

I'm exploring your directions. I could set the Orgchart and Depth, but couldn't identify the "twisty triangle".

What is the "twisty triangle" for? Is it accessible under Format>Layout?

You found it.
the twistie is the little triangle you see in the ribbon just under the commands like layout. When you click on it the menu will dropdown to show you what you see and can do.

To understand the difference between views and layouts etc etc. please check the webinars that are available on the mindjet website under resources. There many and they provide a lot of info.
You will find that the diagram behaves different depending on the default colour (blue/green) and a lot more goodies.

Yes, Ary's right. I should have confirmed that the simple upwards-facing org-chart in your second image is fairly easy to create in MindManager.

In your question you mentioned connecting "rectangle shapes" rather than topics, so I assumed that you were trying to use the option recently added to MindManager to draw various simple shapes in the background of maps.
