I have a mindjet map that I would like to print, but I don't see any options to make it multiple pages, if I print it as is then the font is so small nobody can read it. Is there a way to print multiple pages with mindjet online?
Thanks- Crystal

Hi Crystal,

Unfortunately our current printing capabilities are not very robust. I agree that if you have a map of any significant size, we don't have a good way for you to print it in a way that it is usable. We'll look into improving this aspect of the application over time.

Thanks for your feedback.

Thanks Scott,
I ended up just printing it from the software and I was able to print it as needed.

I've just tried printing - from the online tool - the quality of the print is awful - illegible more than two levels down the map.
So I tried again - and found 'google print' - how cool is that - I can zap it straight onto my nexus tablet, where it appears on screen as a pdf - awesome, except, the pdf is illegible more than two levels down. Fail :o(

Hello,
I really like using Mindjet especially for mind mapping.
Nevertheless, the issue of printing customization and font consideration in print is very important to me and I don't want to start consider other solutions.

Currently it just too small. A suggestion: Maybe seperating different sections into different pages with a title of the branch it extended from. Or even simply printing with some edges to duck tape it all to one bigger map. Another solution is to export it as a picture so I can change the size in Word.
Any solution would be accepted and welcomed and it surely is needed.
Thanks.

MindManager 2012 for Windows has the capability to print on multiple sheets with a border around each, so that they can be taped together.

Large printouts are often not as useful as they first seem, because of the thin topic lines and the amount of white space in the central area of the map. Large maps are also often much taller than they are wide, and usually don't have the same visual coherence as a single page map. When a large map is fully expanded, the groupings and patterns formed by topics nearer to the centre become harder to see.

Whatever technology you use to print, even if you buy a flat bed plotter from NASA, you can be sure that almost any mind mapping software on the market can still create a map that is too big to handle.

It is often better to ensure that the first couple of levels of topic are well organised so that they are easy to use for visual navigation, and only print these as a single page map. Then print the rest as either a linear document, which is better suited to large numbers of single pages, or as a series of fragments of lower level trees.

The same issues exist in many other disciplines - CAD/CAM. circuit diagrams, geographic maps and so on. Software for printing large circuit diagrams inserts "connectors" that help you to jump from one page to the next. It would be nice if multi-page printouts from mind mapping software did that.

I completely agree - printing is something I do under only as a last resort.

Regardless of the 'usefulness' of a printout - the quality of the image (think DPI) should be the same whether printing from the web channel, as from the desktop client.

- at the moment this isn't the case - you have to download it into the desktop client in order to print legibly. I think this is a bug in the cloud app.
