Problem using Powerpoint templates

I'm using MindManager v 16.1.193 (Windows)

I want to generate Powerpoint slides directly from MindManager using our standard Powerpoint template.  The MindManager 'Help'  tells me that "you'll be presented with the following options each time that you export a map to Powerpoint" one of these options should be a choice of Powerpoint templates.

However when I go [View/ Presentation/ Export slides to Powerpoint"  it doesn't offer me any options at all!   It exports all the slides without problem, but they are all vanilla white, and at no point do I get a chance to select a template.

What am I doing wrong?

That's odd. When I do this I'm first asked for a file name and then the Microsoft PowerPoint Export Settings dialogue box appears. This asks you if you want to export as an outline or using PowerPoint objects but either way there should be a field asking you for the PowerPoint template you want to use. Only if you leave this field blank should you get the plain white default template.

If you want to convert the slides MM generates itself you have two options, both of which involve the purchase of additional software. The easiest is to get the MAP for MindManager add-in from Olympic Ltd (http://www.mapformindmanager.com ) which has a large collection of additional tools for MM including the ability to export MM slides to PowePoint or Word.

The resulting images are good but not very high resolution, however. If you need better-quality MM slide images you need to acquire a virtual image printer. You use this to "print" the map and then use PowerPoint's album facility to import the images in one go. I have described the process here: https://sociamind.com/2014/09/13/upda...

Good news and bad.  Had not realised that I had to select a file name before it would offer me the Export Settings dialogue box.  Can now see and use this dialogue box. Thank you.

However, have now run into a new problem. Having used the dialogue box I can now start off the 'Export' process, and I get a Microsoft message saying that Powerpoint is initialising, but then it stops and I get a Mindjet message saying "...has failed to export... to Powerpoint... because unable to insert footer"

Have tried this several times - always the same result.  Any idea what is going on?

It took me a while to sort this out when it first occurred to me.

If I'm right it's because you have selected a PowerPoint template without a footer field but you have a tick in the Add Footer Text field in the Microsoft PowerPoint Export Format Settings dialogue box.

Even if there is no text in the footer text field next to the Add Footer Text tick box, you will get this error message with this combination. If this is the problem there is an easy fix if you don't have any footer text - simply untick this option in the dialogue box.

If you do have footer text, you will have to add a footer field to the PowerPoint template or choose a template which has one.

OK -  that has sorted it. I hadn't noticed all the extra options available as [More>>]

Much appreciate how quickly you responded!  Thank you.
