Problem with encoding when map is based on a Word doc

There is a bug in encoding of notes when map is based on a Word (I have Word 2010 - czech). Imported text is ok but new text is written with incorrect encoding. I can change encoding changing font to e.g. Arial CE but I works for the moment of writing only. When I choose different topic and return back, the text has incorrect encoding again.

I can send you a word file for a test if you can.

I have the same problem with Croatian language since I upgraded to MindManager 2012. When typing language-specific characters, such as ŠĐČĆŽ, into topic comments they show up incorrectly encoded. I didn't have this problem with older versions of Mindmanager, such as 9, 8, and 7.

I have got this answer... see below.

Dear Tomas,

Thank you for contacting Mindjet Support.
Unfortunately we can not reproduce the error, because the formatting in czech is not supported. French, English, German and Japanese are actually the only supported Languages for MindManager. Please reproduce the error in theses languages and let us know if the problem still occurs.

Nevertheless, your demand has been transfered to the quality management of Mindjet as a feature request.

If you need further assistance, simply reply to this email.

Best regards,
Alain Bienvenu Leudjeu

Previously I used a MM 7 version and it worked fine. There was no problem with Czech characters in branches or in notes. I supposed that it will be ok in MM2012 which I upgraded recently. I’m surprised that kind of text editor cannot handle Unicode languages. I would suppose that it is normal. Now I afraid to upgrade to future MM version because it may stop mapping.

I have got new email from Customer support.

Hello Tomas
After consultation with our development department, i found out that this problem is known in the non latin languages in the 2012 version of MindManager.
Name of the Issue: Illegal characters are produced within Notes text, when in the middle of typing process the keyboard is changed to Russian, and space is entered between the typed words.
Description: Steps to reproduce:
- change keyboard layout to Russian oder non Latin Language
- start new map in MM
- create topic notes
- type in any word (e.g.: Test) - hit space - type in same word

Actual result: first the word is typed in correctly, after hitting the space button, it's typed in strange characters.
Expected result: consistency within the international font.
reported by customer

This issue has been reported several times and is actually unresolved and is being investigated by our QE.
Thank you for your understanding.
Best regards

I wonder if this connected with web export which removes spaces from the Topic Notes text which makes English difficult to read.

The support ticket opened 4 months ago and not a word of solution... I can't believe what I'm reading: while MS Office had unicode support for years Mindjet 2012 (21st Century!) harks back to the early days of DOS! I can't believe that meaning to be a global company and having support offices around the world, they still can't handle unicode! This bug seriously limits the integration of Mindjet and the Office - what's the point of exporting and importing if you then have to correct all the spelling manually... And with thish price tag? Very dissatisfied!

I am also very annoyed. Problem for almost a year! Unable to work normally with the editor. Knowingly paying for the transition from 9th version.
