Within the project charter template there is a topic called goals and objectives. these then cascade from Goal 1,2,3 etc to Objectives and Outcomes. I'd like to change the template to be outcome oriented, i.e. reverse the order but i cannot change the text 'Goal 1' is greyed out and cannot be changed, same for Objective 1.1, Desired outcome 1.1.1 etc - please advise on how I can resolve.
Running version 14.1.190 on corporate network
Thanks

I tried to reproduce your map from the template.
It looks like this - I use MM2016 on Windows 7):

Now what do you want to change? I can change it all since nothing is greyed out.

If you make your changes into the map first, you can then save the map as your own projectcharter template and you will have to add it to the template library.

Hi - thanks for the reply - can you change the text 'Goal 1'? In the version I am running all I can change is the text which comes after this, i.e where it says 'enter goal'

Yes I can change it all,
Just bear in mind you cannot change the template,
You have to open it and then you can change all you want in order to create your own template and make it available

You can also replace everything with what ever topic you want before you make it into your own template

And you can change the GOAL numbering overhere:

Go to => Tab Insert => Numbering => click on twisty => Numbering Options +> change it into what you want.

Hi Ary - thanks for your response. I don't want to change the numbering i want to edit the actual text 'Goal1' etcso instead of the template forcing me to write in Goal, Objective, Outcome in that order, I want it to be Outcome, Goal, Objective but it will not allow me to either re-order the sub topics (by moving outcome into the main topic) or by editing the text itself. All I can do is add in text under the fixed headings i.e. the bit which comes after 'Goal 1'.
I have also saved a template but cannot see how to edit the template either.
In the version I'm running neither can i see a section called numbering within the Insert tab either, so still a bit stuck.

If you have a corporate network license, They probably have an Enterprise edition license, so ICT should be able to upgrade to the latest version.
If you want I can help when you are in the Netherlands.

Just tried in MM vs 14 just as you have and voila.Numbering is there

So you should be able to find it and solve the issue.

Just another question.... Have you ever had formal training in the software? One day Powertraining may save you lots of time and annoying things like this one ;-)

I know there are short movies and webinars etc. But have you learned tennis just by watching Andy Murray or Roger Federer on TV?

Hi Ary Thanks - I have managed to add Numbering to the ribbon - it refuses to allow me to add it into the Topic Elements tab but I think I have managed to get it sorted - thanks for the help. I will ask our IT guys if there is training available and what the restrictions are on the Enterprise license.
Best,
M
