The ability to publish maps to the web was a long desired and HUGE add for Mac users in the latest upgrade (MindManager for Mac 11).  Thank you.

What I can not figure out is how to do is publish an UPDATE to a published map without changing the link address.

Searching this community it appears that "Publish Update" is an option from the Update button in the Windows version, however in Mac, my only options are: Start New Publish or Manage Published Maps.  If I choose Manage Published Maps, all I can do is Un-Publish a perviously published map, I can't update it with a more current version.

So as of right now, keeping a map available for viewing by my geographically dispersed Board of Directors all I can do is un-publish the previous version and publish the updated map as a new published map.  But that means a new link that has to shared with everyone.

IMO I would not use Publish Surely  just use >Export >HTML, and place your exported HTML file ion a portal shared with your team - or am I missing something here?

IF my team was made up of employees that I could direct to use a designated portal, that would work.  But this is a volunteer board for a membership-based organization, with members all across the country.  There isn't a single portal to house it on that everybody actually uses consistently (or any practical way to require they use it).

What makes Publish attractive (if the published file can be easily updated so the most current version is always the one that is there) is to be able to share a permanent link address that all can bookmark in whatever tool they use to access the web, without having to establish and maintain a separate website landing page of our own for that purpose.

And it appears this kind of functionality is present in the Windows version of MindManager.  Just wondering if it is available and I am just not finding it in Mac.

Hi Mark,

This functionality is also present in MindManager 11 for Mac. After making changes to your published map, save the changes and then click on the 'Published'  overlay located in the upper left corner. From there, choose 'Publish update'.

Hi Marian Thanks for clarifying, the HTML files are then hosted on MJ / Corel servers - Correct?  Are the recipients required to create MJ / Corel accounts? regards Colin

Hi Colin,

Yes, correct. We host the published HTML files on our servers. No accounts are required for recipients to view the maps. They only need the URL of the Published map.

Thank you, Marian.  Attached is a link to a screen shot of a map that I created, published, updated and saved.  The overlay you reference (and is shown in your screenshot) doesn't appear.

Is there something I need to change in my MindManger settings or a command sequence I need to execute to make it appear?
