Hello Ralf

Which version of Windows are you using?

Is the process "MmReminderService.exe" running on your system? If you press Ctrl+Alt+Del then start the Task Manager, you should see this process in the Processes list.

Hello Ralf

The following is not official advice and you may prefer to open a support ticket with Mindjet instead.

You could try navigating to the MindManager installation folder (e.g. "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mindjet\MindManager 10") and right-clicking on "MmReminderService.exe", then choose "Run as Administrator". This should start the reminder service for the current session, but does not add it to the list of programmes to start with Windows, so it will not start again after the next reboot. There should be a value in the Registry key at

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

A string value "MMReminderService" should point at the executable file. MindManager should write this key when the options to start Topic Alerts is configured. However this does not happen for me on Windows 7, and I have heard of it from other users who experience the same problem. A generic registry script is not a solution because the installation location of MindManager can vary. I think there is an issue there that should be reported as a problem to Mindjet. There might be a problem with permissions, or even cases where MmReminderService.exe has had a false positive alert from antivirus software and been blocked.

Hi

the reminder runs fine now.

But: When i create a very easy map, only 4 topics, for testing reasons, and choose open map from the reminder popup, mindmanager 2012 crashes!

when mindmanager is running, and i choose to open the same map form the reminder window, it works, the selected map is opening.

so i have to open mindmanger first and then i can use the link form the pop up window.

i think this is a BUG.

Do you have a fix?

Best Regards,

Ralf

Hello Ralf

I don't know of any external fix, apart from doing what you have already done and open MindManager first. Since MindManager is going to open anyway, I suppose it does not make a big difference.

I know of problems with other programmes that launch MindManager 2012, and which work OK if MindManager is already open. So I agree, this sounds like a bug and should be submitted to Mindjet.
