Required icon formats

Does anyone know the specs (size and.or color depth) for both the display of icons in the map, as well as the map icons found in the Map Index?

I'm trying to optimize my icons to reduce file sizes and am finding that the "no configuration" image optimizing tool I used has changed the icon formats so that the icons look perfect on the map surface, but they are greatly pixelated in the Map Index tool pane.

Thanks in advance!

Here is a screenshot of the Map Index icons. You can see the pixelation. On the map surface itself the icons look perfect.

Oh, and I am assuming that the Zoom factor on the map will always be 100%...

MindManager makes use of the different icon sizes as the map is zoomed in and out. The task panes will always prefer the 16x16, so if this is not present it will be calculated from a larger size, which is probably the cause of the pixellation.

Thanks guys! Yes, I was actually using IcoFX to do my icon editing, but ran into a problem when my source icons (from a package suite I bought) have as many as 16 different formats inside them. I need to selectively convert almost 500 icons, and you can imagine how hard that would be to do one format at a time, one icon at a time.

I found Icon Workshop, which has a batch node processing engine which you can target to output/convert icons to a standard set of sizes and color depths. http://www.axialis.com/iconworkshop/ It's pretty awesome for only $50...
