Hello. I'm using MM about a year and really like it.
But I have one problem. I often insert pictures in my maps from clipboard after capturing region of a screen by different applications. If i do it the size of the picture increase *3 times. If I use "insert from library" it's ok.
Please help me. It will save a lot of space on my pc and improve the quality of my captured shots because I have to turn it's colors in 256 in settings.
Thank you. I hope you will help me.

The memory size an image in Library and pasted directly is probably the same. They are just displayed at a different scale.

To reduce the memory size, process the image in photo editing software and save as a jpg with increased compression e.g. 85% . If it's a screen shot with text and shapes but no images converting to png or gif will greatly reduce file size. I use

You can try and compare some variations:
1. Find big picture in Google image then drag and drop it in new map
save. remember the size
2. Save image on desktop then d&d in map
3. Use right click - image - from file.

result Size1=Size2=(Size3)*3

I have over 100 pictures in one map. So I need to insert them fast and do minimum clicks by using screenShot and get minimum size of map . I know how to convert and compress images. I only don't understand how clipboard works. Maybe MindJet team can fix it.
I will go the nearest school and try to ask IT teacher

Thanks anyway
