Sub-Topics of Floating topics with Move/Drag Handle?

Hello,

I'm working with a lot of floating topics and would like to rearrange the subtopics around them. I can't find the ability to use drag/move handles for these sub-topics when I try to move them around. I haven't dug into the manual very much, but it seems that this drag/move ability is only available for the FIRST sub-topic off of the MAIN topic. Is that correct?

Thanks,
Joey P

Yes - you are correct. In this regard floating topics are like main topics and therefore the positioning of their subtopics behaves in the same way.

Hi Alex,

Thanks for helping me out with this. The question I have is whether the Floating Topic Sub-Topics have move handles like they do off the Main Topic. I can't see them. I don't have MindManager on the computer I'm replying from, so I can't show you, but that is what I'm experiencing.

Also, after the FIRST Sub-Topic of the Main Topic I don't find any no more moving handles for the following subtopics. Is that the way it should be or do I need to flip a setting.

Thanks,

Hi Joey,

It might help when you're next at a computer with MindManager if you could post an example map.

I also think there might be some confusion about terminology. In standard maps Main topics are the first layer of topics around the Central topic, and are the only ones with topic handles which allow them to be moved freely. All subsequent layers are various levels of sub-topics, don't have topic handles and can't be moved.

Floating topics are essentially Main topics that aren't attached to the Central topic - and as they are floating, they don't have or require topic handles. Like those connected to Main topics, the subtopics attached to Floating topics don't have topic handles and are similarly restricted in their location.

Hi Alex,

Your reply is answers my question very completely. I was wanting to know which ones had topic handles: "Like those connected to Main topics, the subtopics attached to Floating topics don't have topic handles and are similarly restricted in their location."

Thank you very much for your help.
