Subtopic counts (on the parent topic)

Just received this from a customer:

Have the option to include a subtopic count on your topic items, like the second picture below. This could be toggled on/off by branch, with “off” as default. There could also be an option to “count filtered-off” items, or not.

What do you think of this idea?

I'd like this. It would make the org chart function easier to use to actually track headcount etc....

Is there any way to get this information at this point? I see the high level statistics you can get on the map, but I would like to determine (not necessarily display) how many topics are under a given topic.

In addition to the options requested above, I wish that it were possible to hide the subtopic count. This could be either a View | Show/Hide option, a Print | Page Setup | Print option, or both. I often print top-level maps as handouts, and do not always want to advertise how much information I have chosen to omit.
