Allow multiple MindManager windows to be opened so that two maps can be viewed or edited at the same time (like Microsoft Word)

"We need a possibility to show a different mapu on a projector, and an editable map on the PC or vice versa." [from Nordman]

"Agreed, but not just two maps. I'd like the following:
- To have multiple resizable windows (one for each map) and be able to move them between monitors
- To be able to put the Gantt view and the notes pane in separate movable windows (the latter would probably be set up so that there was only one note open at a time (for the topic that had the focus) - for example, so that you can have the map on one monitor (or projector) and the Gantt or notes window on the other." "Alex, can you put that Gantt view and Notes pane suggestion into separate requests for voting. From a development perspective, these are separate efforts. " [from MichaelDeutch]

Talk about annoying!! This would be a killer app feature, allowing someone to have a presentation open on one screen and information recording on another. There are so many uses for this also, Like when I am working with two maps and need to see both in order to keep things straight. Fitting it all onto one screen makes the maps to small. Extending the app through two screens does not give both maps easy access to the editing ribbon. This is a no brainer improvement. Even resource hogging apps like adobe can do this. Please make this request a reality.

Apart from Excel, this is the only app I know that forces you to keep all your documents open in a single window. At least Excel allows you to run multiple instances though.

I'm fed up with having to continually flip back and forth between multiple maps when I have two 23 inch monitors to spread them across.

Thanks for your feedback. I'm pleased to announce this feature is coming with the release of MindManager 2016 for Windows next month.

Please see page - https://www.mindjet.com/mindmanager2016-windows-preview/ for more details.

Best,

I am not able to see where you can open multiple windows in 2017 version, is this possible?  In the past I would run 2 instances (current version and previous version) to be able to work in 2 windows & 2 monitors - ie like New=>Window feature in office programs.

Yes you can use 2 monitors in MM 2017. Just tear off a map and drag it to another place  / monitor

And you can also open an earlier version of MM (eg 2015) side by side with MM2017.

Take care that you should not open the same map in different MM versions - or at least work on it and save it in just one of them -

Use the 'Detach Tab' feature of MindManager 2017 to put a map in a separate window which you can then drag to another screen.... see screenshot below.

This feature works well in Mindjet 2017.  I use two monitors and have no problem with maps on different screens.
