Task Email notifications not working

I've been a MJ user for years and just started a new project with a client.  I've set up the project in Project Director and have a detailed workplan made in a map.  I would like to start assigning tasks through MJ Tasks.  The first few tasks I sent from my map show up in the users Task Pane, but they never get a "you've been assigned a new task..." notification email, nor are they getting a daily reminder.  I checked one of my users and they have their notification settings on.  I tested sending a task to myself from a map and I not getting a notification of a new task email as well.  I double checked the emails that I've set up -- the fact that the task makes it's way to the appropriate task list.  AND my users are not getting thier daily summary of outstanding tasks.  Sounds like a bug.  Or is their a setting at the project level that I need to adjust.  Please help. I've got a project with 12 people and a very short deadline.

HI Ben I got similar problem and I am not able to get mail notification for my tasks....
