When I am setting a Topic Alert, it does not work at all anymore. It was in the past. I do not get the automatic Topic Alert window when I start windows, nor do the alerts work when all systems are running.

Hello Rainer

Have you enabled the option to start the Topic Alert service when Windows starts?

Has anything changed on your system that might prevent the Alert service from starting?

I have a vague memory that Topic Alerts went away in one or two versions of MindManager, then were added back again.

Hello Nick,

yes, Topic Alerts are active when Windows starts. I just do not synchronise with Outlook since I use a differents email software.

I am running MMAP v. 9.

Thanks for your reply!!

Which operating system are you using? There is another support case open with a report that the MmReminderService crashes on Windows 7. Maybe the same is happening for you.

On Windows XP, the Processes tab in the Windows Task Manager shows MmReminderService.exe running. Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Information, then Software Environment > Startup Programs shows MmReminderService scheduled for launch at Windows startup.

However, I am not seeing the same on Windows 7, even though MindManager is configured to start the Topic Alerts service with Windows. But I am always installing and uninstalling various MindManager versions, so this is not entirely surprising.

The first thing to try in strange cases is to run a repair of MindManager from the Control Panel. If this does not fix it, then it would be best to open a support case with Mindjet support, in case they have a simple solution.
