Sending tasks from Connect Vision to Connect Action gives "Empty Topic" tasks.

Hi,
I add a topic and assign a due date to it in Connect Vision. I then select the topic and press "Send to Action". Opening Connect Action/CoHuman up in deed shows a new task in "My Tasks" but the task is named "Empty Topic".

Is this a bug or what do I do wrong?

Cheers!

Strange, I added tasks to Action, with and without start/due date, and all task are named with the topic text.

I use this feature on a near daily basis and have never experienced this either. Have you been able to make this happen again or was it a 1-time experience. Look forward to hearing more if possible.

Hi,
Works like a charm when I tried it the other day. Strange ;)

Anyways, now when the system is pushing the info from Vision to Action I'm quite satesfied even though I would really like to se a synch back to Vision whenever I update the tasks in Action.

Cheers!

Stefan,

We are in fact presently working on Task Synch. Would love to hear more about how you and others envision this feature working. Some questions to spark your imagination...

What do you see as the life cycle of a Task? Where in either vision or action can you start one, edit one, delete one?

How do envision them being associated with maps and or projects in Vision and Action respectively?

What task data you would expect to be common an synched between Vision and Action.

Hi Scott,

Sorry for this late reply.

Tasks shall be possible to create in both Vision and Action. I would really like to have the possibility to do queries from Vision to Action just like when using the MM desktop version and targeting tasks in Outlook.

Editing shall be possible in both Vision and Action and later synched.

Like wise deleting a task. Will this cause a problem? If so maybe one can have the option in Vision to right-click the task to open the task in Action in order to delete it?

Running Vision and querying for tasks in Action need to have the possibility to set "project" as one of the search criterias. The same goes for querying for tasks with specific resources/persons.

When synching a task between Vision/Action I believe that all data that are vital for the tasks completion has to transferred. To me this means projectname, what resources are involved, start/end date (and time?), completion ratio (e.g. 0, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%) and of course priority. Did I miss anything? Yes maybe a "milestone" looks a little bit different but you get the point.

---

Finally, I would just love to have a plug-in for Outlook from Vision/Action to synch tasks. I found a post on the Internet from the old "CoHuman" ages where someone (CoHuman people?) asked for help in building such a plug-in.

Check it out here: http://www.donanza.com/jobs/p2714291-...

---

I hope that the above is not completely in the opposite direction to what you have already planned ;)

Cheers and happy hacking!

Hi,

Just a small throught - will it be possible to import or invite your Google/FaceBook/Outlook contacts into Action as members? This would be really nice :)

Cheers!

i agree with stefan.janpar above. only i will go futher and say that it makes no sense that the 'action' doesn't sync with the 'vision'. basically, that puts me in the same issue i have with MM... i send the map to another and then i have to find the task and update myself once they report completion ect...
love that i can create the 'vision' in MM format and send the tasks to 'action' format, but a true update must take place on the 'vision' side once an 'action' is changed because 'vision/MM' is is the program i use to organize and manage project flow. the 'action' side is just that; your 1/2 done with your product. long time users of MM use MM for the management of the work flow & on-going information collection. i see exactly how the 'action' side is supposed to work but without this automatically sync'n between the two its hard to manage. the way it is now set-up it appears you are only using the 'vision/MM' side is just for the brainstorming/initial creation of the project/task and then everything moves to the 'action' side to finish/complete, but the reality is that the 'action' side was the missing link to complete the automatic syncing of the work flow in MM/vision side.
feel i was redundant... don't mean to be, but can understand why this isn't already a feature. unless im missing something
