When I export a mind map that uses topic styles, the styles do not appear in the exported .pdf image.

That discussion is about the same problem, but offers no resolution. I have added an update to the other discussion and will track it there. Please help if you can - I really need a resolution to this!

Hello Paul

It seems that simplifying the topic styles used is the only workaround at the moment.

The issue seems to be the use of user-defined topic styles. I can apply a topic shape, a fill color, or both to any topic (or subtopic) and it works fine. However, if I define a topic style with that combination of shape and color, the generated .pdf ignores the topic styles that have been appied to the topics and subtopics. It's a bug. I can send you a mind map illustrating the problem if you like.

Good find. I can imagine how this has happened, as the topics that get topic styles don't get their attributes changed, but refer to a stored topic style. If the global style changes, then all topics that use it will also get updated, but this convenience comes at the price of making topic styles transparent to exports. If there was a utility to "fix" topic styles on a topic, this would lose the ability to update all instances of a style afterwards.

It would be best to report this to Mindjet as a bug, by opening a support case through their official support page.
