unable to open .xmmap

I am running Mindjet MindManager 10.3.605 on a Mac 10.9.2.
I have been working on a map for a few weeks, including yesterday. Today, when I tried to open the file, I received the following message:
"XML processing error. Unable to transform a file into a MindManager document"
I have changed nothing in my system since yesterday; there are no updates available. I have restarted my computer. I went back with time machine to the version from yesterday.
Nothing has helped; I cannot open the file.

This is a catastrophe.

The file contains important, time-sensitive information. Any ideas??

Hi Holly, I had exactly the same problem and all the usual fixes including renaming my file with an .xmmap ending didn't work. I did manage to recover a slightly older version of the file from the cloud and reconstruct what I needed. That is about as far as I have gotten. I have had no response from Mindjet. My concern is that I can't trust the program and I don't know when it will give me a similar problem. Maybe it is best not to save the files in XML format. Best regards, David

Hi David,
Customer Support has in the meantime solved my problem. They asked me to send them the damaged file, then they repaired the file for me and sent it back. They recommend saving Maps created with a desktop application of Mindjet as a Mindjet-Map file (mmap). For some reason my map was saved as .XMMAP. Now it seems to be working. Maybe you could have them repair the file; give it a shot. Otherwise maybe you could just change the file ending?????
Good luck.
