VM Hard Disk Recovery From Time Machine

I'm running Mindjet v11.2.185 2/5/2013 on Windows 7 (latest updates applied) on a Mac running OS X 10.8.3 (latest version) under Parallels Desktop 8 (latest version).

The system wouldn't wake from a sleep. So, I pressed the power button until the power went off. Then I re-powered on the computer but when I restarted my Windows VM I got an error message saying there was no disk. Everything had been working fine up to then.

Now when I restart the Windows VM that was running when I powered off, I get an error "Unable to create the snapshot" with a Problem ID: of 53. But I couldn't find out what this meant.

Then, when I click OK, I get another error, "Unable to connect to Hard Disk 1." It goes on to say that Hard Disk 1 does not exist or is in use by another process or you have no permission to access it - I have admin privileges.

Please help me recover the hard disk in the VM. I have also restored the entire VM from a week before the problem from a time machine backup. But I still get the same behavior. HELP! I have a file I need to recover on that virtual hard disk.

I don't think Mindjet can help you here as this seems to be related to Parallels.

According to the Parallels knowledge base (http://kb.parallels.com/en/111737), this might be related to a lack of disk space.

Did you check if you have space left on your system?
