What is Mindjet doing to improve MM display problems on hires screens?

Menus display crowded with text overlapping graphics when using MM16 on Surface devices. The problem extends to addons. While turning off scaling awareness through properties improves menus, icons become tiny and difficult to see/use.
It is custom for developers to blame Microsoft but MS did release guidelines several years ago and hires screens are more and more common. At the moment it serves as a disincentive to using MM on Surface devices or hires notebooks.

Yes, I've noticed this too. For example, see the missing buttons from the CSV export below:

The fix is easy; there's switch you need to enable when creating a new window... we've done so for our (aHa!Coaching) add-ins which work fine on HiDPI screens.

Hi Mathieu,

Have you had any issues with ribbon menu icons? I have had several reports of our add-ins displaying badly on 4k systems.

I have sent some information to Michael Deutch on this issue but have not had a response back yet.

As you can see from these screen shots the display looks awful.

The top one shows an actual Mindjet MindManager icon (the Font command) which is also rendered badly, The middle screen shows the ResultsManager Ribbon and the last one shows the MAP ribbon.

There is a setting on Forms/windows to use dpi scaling when a system uses dpi scaling on the monitor but I have not yet found a solution to the ribbon issue. Nick Duffill says he uses .ico format icons on ResultsManager and I tend to use .png on MAP but neither render correctly.

If you have any suggestions I would be really grateful. :-)

Regards
Nigel

Yes, I have the same experience with our add-ins. Forms/Windows look great after setting the DPI scaling, but icons in the Ribbon do not...

This article sheds a lot of light on the dpi scaling issues. Mindjet/Corel might find a pathway here!: https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/a...
