Please see this response from one of our product managers:

"We're busy on a major and much requested service release that'll integrate MindManager on the Mac with Mindjet Connect for the first time. That'll give you access to a free account in the cloud where you can store and share maps and other files with other colleagues. We've also started work on the next major release which will include functional, platform and integration enhancements. Unfortunately, we don't publish our release dates in advance so I cannot share exact time frames with you. Finally, we've increased our investment as a company in the Mac platform. I encourage you to continue participating in the forum here and submitting your votes for which features you'd most like to see. We won't be able to bring the Mac to 100% parity with Windows in a single release but we'll continue to prioritize and bring in the most sought after features.

Thanks for your patience."

I don't care if it is in the cloud or not. I do care that it functions on parity with Win version.

Same for me, especially for "project management" management capabilities.
Also, the new type diagrams to organize ideas are interesting.
Something missing : ability to select a template when exporting maps to Apple Keynote.
Thanks !

Try Curio for Mac from Zengobi. Works great, imports/exports great, project management, and the developer emailed me he plans for an iPad version next.

I just upgraded from MM 9 to version 10, and the new one still doesn't have the Gantt capability. I work on both MAC and PC platforms on the same files but I can't access the Gantt charts on version 10. This this feature fall off the table in development?

Brittney (or anyone else), is there any documentation describing what is new in Mindjet 10 for Mac over Mindmanager 9.6? The download page has documentation for the latest Windows release but none for the latest Mac offering. I see only evidence of re-branding and no new features, but perhaps I'm missing something.

Two weeks ago I've upgraded to MM 9 to get MM 10 under the technology guarantee once it comes out. So far I haven't yet received the new license key but I've downloaded Mindjet 10 for Mac as a demo version. I can't see any difference to MM 9.6 and worse, if I go into Help -> What's new, I get exactly the same list as I had under MM 9.6

So for the time being it very much looks just like a re-branding. I really hope this is not the case and that there is/will be a version 10 which justifies the #upgrade. Otherwise I've been ripped of by MindJet.

The release notes for Mindjet 10 for Mac have been published:

Quote: "The first release of Mindjet for Mac was focused on updating the product name and branding from MindManager to Mindjet."

http://www.mindjet.com/pdf/us/Mindjet...

So I've thrown out a 100 Euros to get the MM10 as technology upgrade for what? A change of name/branding... If you promise to people that they will get the next general available version (MM10 in my case) under the technology guarantee, then they are expecting to get something for the money - quite a bit more than a change of name/branding! What you've done is like stealing money!

Hi. You mentioned that you paid for the upgrade to version 9 which is why you received Mindjet 10 for Mac free of charge. What version were you on previously? I don't have enough information to search our database to best assist you. Thank you and I look forward to your response.

Hi. Before I had version 8 which was working ok for me, so I hadn't upgraded to MM 9 Mac. In your initial reply above, you had stated that a service release would come out, which I understand was 9.5/9.6.

And then you said that "We've also started work on the next major release which will include functional, platform and integration enhancements." For me it was clear that MM 10 Mac would be this major release. Therefore you can probably understand that I am disappointed not to see any of these points implemented.

If one day MM 11 for Mac comes out, I will only be able to acquire it on a temporary subscription basis, which scares the hell out of me as I don't have anymore a control on my expenses.

Although Mindjet/MindManager is a good product, I am not happy with the recent change in strategy of your management.

Just as an additional information from your own support page:
****
Product Releases and Maintenance Policy

This policy sets forth consistent Customer Support Services terminology and customer notification and expectation management.

Product Upgrades: Product Upgrades, also known as Major Releases, introduce important new features or significantly enhance existing Product functionality. These releases are made available on a product-by-product basis. Product Upgrades are available free of charge to purchasers of MSA, as specified herein, or available without the purchase of MSA for an additional charge.
The first digit of the version number signifies the Major Release.
Ex: 9.2.504
****
Based on this information I would hope to receive a free upgrade of the next *real* product upgrade - whatever the number is. 10.x doesn't classify as actual upgrade according to Mindjet's policy.

That would be great, but I still don't expect you, Mindjet, will have the functionality we have been waiting and waiting and waiting for. Something simple like exporting a map to a Word doc, with levels intact. Every other developer out there seems to be able to do that but you won't.

The shift to a subscription model is a blatant, though though increasingly common, fraud. it works like this: Rather than adding real functionality that consumers are demanding, management dreams up a list of "features" that no customers actually care about, but that does require some sort of cloud integration or ongoing service. Then they implement this list, claim to be adding value, and move to a subscription model.

It generally doesn't wind up helping the consumer at all, though it does pad the company's pockets with a steady income stream for their products, which they now receive whether or not they continue to innovate with new, meaningful functionality.

I've been a fan, customer, and vocal advocate of Mindmanager for many product generations, but it looks like the time has finally come for me to shift to the nearest competitor.

If enough others agree, and switch as well, it might put enough pressure on Mindjet to cause them to abandon this fraud as a business tactic. It would be nice, sine the stand-alone product they have is actually pretty decent, when not loaded down with the new garbage.

I totally agree, and have stopped using Mindjet completely. They really seem not to care about what their current customers want/need, at least that's been my experience. Their product still doesn't work right on Mac. Curio does. I am done with Mindjet. Uninstalled on all but one computer and that one will go as soon as I finish transferring my maps to another format. Done. Finished. Bye bye Mindjet. You have lost another customer.
