I just discovered that the Balance Map feature is missing in the latest version of MM2012 for windows. (at least I can't find it anymore)

I know I can switch the automatic balancing on/off in the options, but this feature is extremely convenient if you are working on a lager map.

Isn't it in the Editing section on the Home tab?

However I agree the View tab would be the more logical place to put it.

I always add it to the QAT. Then it's there all the time.

But I did find that rather an odd move as well.

Thanks, I found it on the Home tab.

I placed it in the QAT as well, that makes it easier to access.
(actually, after the latest upgrade I needed to fill the QAT again, that's why I was lost.

Thanks again

Reasons we moved Balance Map from View to Home:

- We felt it was something that people would do as they added and reorganized topics, so it seemed right to associate it with map editing (which the Home tab is about) rather than viewing.
- The View tab is extremely crowded.

Andrew's tip to put frequently-used controls on the Quick Access Toolbar is a good one. One strong point of the Ribbon is that modifying the QAT is simple: just right-click a tool to put it up there, and right-click again to take it off.

Ok Lars,
I understand why it was moved.
I agree with Andrew that the QAT is a handy tool for features that you use often.
However, MindManager does not remember those settings if a new version is launched.
That, and this changed layout of the user interface brings up these questions.

Suggestion for you: Communicate those changes extremely clear to all your users.
At least in the release notes, but it would be best if communicated on the website and blog as well.
