Why do you not Tweet the news of your partners?

This has been bothering me for some time now and I have resisted the urge to ask this question but find I can no longer do that so here goes....

Why is it that the Mindket Twitter account only publishes, (or at least it seems to), tweets/re-tweets about its own blog entries/news?

Surely the whole point of Tweeting to your followers is to notify them of potentially beneficial news articles or product useability tips or enhancements that can help them get more from MindManager.

Where are the Tweets about new addins that are released from partners, training courses being held (in whatever country) by trainers, tips and tricks articles in blogs (remember the Mindjet Trusted Voice - what happened to that) or just great ideas about how to achieve things with Mindmanager published by evangelists of the product(s)?

I'm sure you, (Mindjet), are pleased when bloggers/partners/evangelists Tweet about Mindjet/MindManager news of any type, but how about a bit of reciprocity?

It would not be so bad if the Mindjet Blog carried articles and annoucements from partners as it used to in the past and therefore these reached your Twitter followers but this activity seems to have become unimportant to you.

As a side note you may want to question the relevance of re-tweeting a followers re-tweet about your own tweet that has already been tweeted? That just means your followers get the same news multiple times, (could be considered spamming).

Hi Nigel, your comments make sense to me. It's called Social Networking! ;)

Has anyone come across a good example of a corporate promoting its user and partner network via their web site and social networking?

On the other hand Mindjet and their employees have retweeted my course and blog tweets.

What I also find odd is the lack of presence of the UK and German Mindjet employees here and on Twitter.

Although the Mindjet marketing and Sales people that cover the Netherlands are doing what they can and they are good at it.... It is obvious that the webdesigners mindjet hired have no clue on what the comany sells and how mindjet came to their current size and status.

How else can we explain the fact that the only trainer that can be found on the website is a Swedish one?

Strange that no-one from Mindjet has commented on this thread to answer the original question? Oops. Maybe I missed the tweet response?

Andrew, in answer to your question, I have worked with some very special accountants called The WOW Company who do an amazing job at promoting their partner network, via website and Twitter in particular. Tweets are diverse, useful, challenging, informative and timely. This is driven by one of the Directors, Peter Czapp, who is a committed visionary.

I think Mindjet could learn a great deal from a company like this, or from @Zappos, @Starbucks, or even someone like Guy Kawasaki, ex-Apple chief evangelist. It's all a little bit too much about Mindjet for my liking, much as I like Mindjet. This causes me to not pay too much attention to Mindjet tweets, as I know what they're gonna say before I read them. Shame.

Gary,

Thanks for your note.

Indeed, we have been following the discourse from you and our partners. I agree that we've been too "Mindjet focused" and we have been moving towards more thought leadership content on our blog, Conspire, Facebook and our other social outlets as well. We use Twitter a bit differently - to call out the latest news, events, articles, etc. As such, it's a bit more promotional in nature. Even so we are looking to strike a balance between company news and thought leadership.

Based on partner feedback, we are also working on revamping our other partner communications efforts. We'll have more details about these efforts in the coming weeks and will be soliciting feedback before we implement.

Parker,

Thanks for the response. I'm looking forward to seeing these proposed efforts in due course and am sure I am one of many Mindjet Partners that will welcome the change.

Hi Parker,

Is there any progress on this. You made the statement that there would be some revamping and partners would be consulted/involved but I have seen nothing yet. Have I missed something!

Regards
